Our new Director of Music, Brett Terry, joined us for the first time -- and performed in dazzling fashion -- on Sunday, August 1. This is an exciting milestone for the Scarsdale Congregational Church, as Brett is only the third person since 1952 to occupy this position. It also marks the completion of a period of significant transition and renewal for the Church that began four years ago with the gradual departures of our Minister of Music, our Minister of Christian Education and our Senior Minister, all of whom had served with us for extended periods of time.
Brett graduated summa cum laude from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and is now heading east to begin his masters degree studies at the prestigious Institute of Sacred Music at Yale. He comes from a wide-ranging musical background and brings a sense of humor and a youthful enthusiasm to the serious business of creating excellent music and infusing our congregational life with song.
With Brett's arrival, we now have our new clergy and music staff in place, guiding us forward. If you have not visited our church in a while, stop by! We are a thriving, vibrant congregation in the center of lower Westchester. Getting here is easy!
