Founded in 2001, Kids for World Health (KFWH) addresses treatable disease in under-resourced communities in Africa and other areas, with chapters in New York and other states. Today the organization focuses on treatment of four neglected diseases: Chagas Disease, Buruli Ulcer, Leishmaniasis, and Trypanosomiasis or Sleeping Sickness. Activities include the funding of diagnostics, doctoral training worldwide, prevention books and films, equipment, treatments such as pacemaker surgeries and medicines, and the construction of facilities including six KFWH pediatric treatment clinics in Sudan, Chad, Tanzania and Uganda. The founding teacher is Kay Kobbe Miles, a member and former educator with SCC.
